Last Wednesday Jen and I went up to Sandia Crest, elevation 10,700 feet, the summit of the Sandia Mountains just east of Albuquerque, New Mexico to view all three species of Rosy-Finches that breed in the United States. The owner of the gift shop at Sandia Crest has been putting seed out in the mornings during the winter, which attract the birds.With the Yellow-billed Loon I saw at Lake Havasu last week, I’ve added four new ones to my ABA Area list, #’s 571-574.
